Fasli Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2 November 2026
Fasli – Uni Planner ("Fasli" or "the app") is a study planner for university students, made by an independent developer in Kuwait who publishes under the name "Fasli". Fasli is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by any university. This policy explains what information the app uses, where it is kept, and the choices you have.
1. The short version
- Your timetable, tasks, exams and notes are stored on your phone.
- We do not sell your data, and the app does not show ads.
- Some optional features (sign-in, cloud backup, file import, subscriptions) send limited data to the trusted services listed below, only to make those features work.
- You can delete your data at any time.
- Fasli never asks for your university (SIS) username or password.
2. Information stored only on your device
When you use Fasli without signing in, what you enter is kept on your device: your courses and lecture times, tasks, assignments, exam dates, marks, reminders, language choice and settings. Lecture and deadline reminders and the home-screen widgets are created on your phone and send nothing anywhere. A timetable screenshot is read on your phone; the picture is not sent anywhere. If you turn on "Keep my classes in my phone calendar", Fasli asks for calendar access and writes your classes into a separate "Fasli classes" calendar on your phone. It does not read or change your other calendars, sends nothing anywhere, and removes that calendar when you turn the option off. You can erase all of it at any time from Settings > "Delete all my data on this phone", or by uninstalling the app.
The graduation plan tools are the exception, because the planning is done on our server (section 3, "Graduation plan and file import"). To use them without an account, the app quietly creates an anonymous account identifier through Firebase Authentication (Google). It carries no name or email, and it is only used to make sure the plan answers go back to the right phone.
3. Information we collect when you use optional features
Sign in with Apple and subscriptions may not be in your version of the app yet. This section describes how each feature works when it is available.
Sign-in (Google or Apple)
If you choose to sign in, we receive your name, email address and an account identifier from Google or Apple through Firebase Authentication (Google). We use them only to create your account, keep your data in sync across devices and contact you about your account. If you use "Hide My Email" with Apple, we receive a relay address instead of your real email.
Cloud backup and sync
If you are signed in, your study data is stored in Google Firebase (Google Cloud's Dammam region in Saudi Arabia) so you can restore it on a new phone: your name as you entered it in the app, your courses, schedule, tasks, exams and the marks you enter, your Ramadan lecture times, the graduation plans you saved to compare, and the transfer courses you entered. Your academic record itself (the courses and grades read from your SIS PDFs or typed in for the graduation plan) is kept on your phone only and is not backed up.
Sharing TMA dates with classmates (off unless you turn it on)
If you are signed in and switch on Settings > Account > "Share TMA dates with classmates", the app shares the due dates of the TMAs you enter, together with the course code, your university and the semester, so other Fasli students in the same course can add them. Nothing else is shared: not your name, email, task titles, marks or anything else in your account. Your dates are stored in Google Firebase under your account's random identifier, which other signed-in Fasli users can technically see but which does not reveal who you are. Classmates only see how many students entered each date, and a date is only suggested once at least two students entered it. Switching the setting off, or deleting your account, removes your shared dates.
Graduation plan and file import
If you choose to import a registration form, academic plan, transcript or course syllabus as a PDF, the file you pick is sent over an encrypted connection to our server on Google Cloud (in Doha, Qatar). It is used only to read your courses, grades or syllabus dates, and it is discarded as soon as the answer is sent back. Your name is removed and your student ID is replaced by a one-way code before the result is returned to your phone.
Each time you check your graduation plan, registration day or "drop or keep", the app sends your academic record (course codes, grades and credits, without your name) to the same server to work out the answer. The server does not store your files or your record, and its logs hold no grades, file names or account identifiers in readable form. The app only accesses the files or photos you select; it does not browse your gallery.
Before a file or your record is sent for the first time, the app shows what will be sent and where, and asks you to agree. If you choose "Not now", nothing is sent and you can keep using everything that works on your phone. For students of the Egypt branch, reading files and planning on our server are not offered yet, so their record never leaves the phone.
Checking that the app is genuine
So that only the real Fasli app can use our server, the app asks Google Play Integrity, through Firebase App Check (Google), to confirm that it is the unmodified app installed from Google Play. This check sends technical information about the app and the device to Google. It does not include your name, email or anything you entered.
Faisal, the AI helper (optional)
When you tap "Ask Faisal why", Fasli sends only the details of that one result to our server, for example your GPA, the number of warnings or an estimated graduation term. Your name and student number are not sent. Our server passes those details to OpenAI (United States), which writes a short explanation. Fasli does not keep the question or the answer. OpenAI may keep them for up to 30 days to check for abuse and does not use them to train its models. Faisal is off until you agree on the sheet that appears on your first tap. If you are under 18, ask a parent or guardian first. Faisal is not available for the Egypt branch.
Subscriptions
Payments are handled entirely by Google Play or the Apple App Store. We never see your card details. We use RevenueCat to check whether your subscription is active; it receives an anonymous app user ID and your purchase history for Fasli.
When subscriptions are on, the first PDF import is free. To stop the free import being claimed again after reinstalling, our server keeps the time of your first import under a one-way code made from your account identifier and another made from your student number. Neither can be turned back into your account or student number, and nothing else from your record is kept.
Crash and performance reports
If the app crashes or hits an unexpected error, it sends a crash report through Firebase Crashlytics (Google) so we can fix the problem. A report contains the technical details of the error and where in the app it happened, the app version, your phone model, its operating system version, and a random installation identifier created by Firebase. It does not contain your name, email, account, schedule, marks or anything else you entered. Crash reports are on by default; you can turn them off on the screen that asks before your first import, or at any time in Settings > "Send crash reports", which also deletes reports not yet sent.
Feedback and support emails
"Send feedback" (in Settings, or by shaking your phone) opens your own email app with a message to us. Nothing is sent unless you press Send there. If you send it, we receive your email address, what you write and, only if you choose to include them, a screenshot of the app and the app and phone details shown on the screen (app version, phone model, operating system version, language and university branch). Check a screenshot before sending: it shows whatever was on your screen. We use all of this only to reply and to fix problems, and delete it when it is no longer needed.
Backup file
Settings > "Save a backup file" puts all your Fasli data, including your marks and academic record, into one file that you keep wherever you choose (for example your own Google Drive or email). The file does not pass through our servers. Anyone who has the file can read what is in it, so keep it private.
4. How we use information
We use information only to provide and improve Fasli's features, keep your account and subscription working, fix errors, and respond to you. We do not use your data for advertising, we do not build advertising profiles, and we do not sell or rent your data.
5. Service providers
We use these providers to run the optional features above. They process data on our behalf and under their own privacy terms:
- Google Firebase (sign-in, cloud storage, crash reports): firebase.google.com/support/privacy
- Google Cloud (the server that reads imported files and plans graduation routes): cloud.google.com/privacy
- RevenueCat (subscription status): revenuecat.com/privacy
- OpenAI, United States (AI explanations, only when you use Faisal): openai.com/policies/privacy-policy
- Google Play and Apple App Store (payments)
Where your data is processed: our server, which reads imported PDFs, runs in Google Cloud's Doha region in Qatar. Your backup and any TMA dates you share are stored in Google Cloud's Dammam region in Saudi Arabia. Firebase sign-in and crash reports (Google) and RevenueCat may store data in other countries, including the United States. When you use Faisal, the details of that one result are processed by OpenAI in the United States. These providers may store data on servers outside your country. We may also disclose information if required by law.
6. Security
Data sent between the app and our service providers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). Access to stored data is restricted to your own account, except the TMA dates you choose to share with classmates (section 3). No method of storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information. If a security incident affects your personal information, we will tell you and the data protection authority where the law requires, within 72 hours of finding out.
7. How long we keep data
On-device data stays until you delete it or uninstall the app. Account and cloud data is kept while your account is active and deleted within 30 days after you delete your account. Imported files are deleted right after processing. Crash reports are kept for up to 90 days. Purchase records may be kept by Google, Apple and RevenueCat as required for tax and accounting.
8. Your choices and rights
- Delete on-device data: Settings > "Delete all my data on this phone".
- Delete your account: in the app, Settings > Account > "Delete my account", or follow the steps on our account deletion page. Deleting your account erases your cloud data. It does not cancel a subscription; cancel that in Google Play or the App Store.
- Access or correct your data: most of it you can view and edit directly in the app; for anything else, email us.
- Withdraw consent or object: you can stop any optional feature at any time (sign out, turn off sharing or crash reports, or type your courses in instead of importing). Withdrawing does not affect what was done before.
- Complain: if you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to the data protection authority in your country.
9. Children and students under 18
Fasli is intended for university students and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
If you are under 18, ask a parent or guardian before you sign in, import your SIS files, check your plan on our server or ask Faisal. Everything else in the app works on your phone without sending anything.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top and, for important changes, tell you in the app.
11. Your country
These are the data protection laws and authorities for the countries Fasli serves. You can contact the authority in your country if you are not happy with how we handled a request.

- Google Firebase (تسجيل الدخول، والتخزين السحابي، وتقارير الأعطال): firebase.google.com/support/privacy
- Google Cloud (الخادم الذي يقرأ الملفات المستوردة ويخطط مسارات التخرج): cloud.google.com/privacy
- RevenueCat (حالة الاشتراك): revenuecat.com/privacy
App Store.
